NullPointerException at getHomeRecommendations

Steps to reproduce

1. Let android put the app to sleep mode or just minimize the app while on home screen
2. Come back to the app

Expected behavior

Should just reload the home recommendations

Actual behavior

App crashes

Crash logs (or stack trace)
