Concerning disk usage #1712

Closed iPaulPro closed 1 month ago

I've noticed that Frame regularly consumes ~10% of CPU resources while idle in the background. I'm not sure why this is, but I just discovered something more concerning: it's disk usage. Can you help me to understand why Frame is reading and writing this much data from disk, and constantly running in the background?

Only because of the total silence here... 😅

Very puzzling. I've stopped using it altogether, which is a shame.

what have to you been using now? any better alternatives?

Tried a bunch but none are great. Ended up back with Metamask. 😩

Looks like Frame is dead; no commits in months.

More alive than ever, we're just hard at work on something new that isn't released yet and isn't part of this repo. We haven't been able to track down any issues here with disk usage and we don't have any other reports that I know of abnormal disk usage. We have a todo to optimize this mechanism but this is likely just Frame frequently persisting state over a long running process. No need to fud, please keep Github issues on topic.

Not fud, it's shady and concerning.
