Issue

Battery trend down
Root cause for the battery downtrend: to be identified

Firmware version

v4.3.1

Metadata: Location, dep_id

Sensor condition

physically in good condition
Solar panel operational
Heltec operational
Maxbotix good condition

Antenna condition

Broken antenna
But was transmitting data with good RSSI and SNR in indoor lab conditions

Power consumption analysis

Power consumption in all sensor states - Tx, Rx, and sleep seems normal

Here is a battery trend plot for a sensor in Hamilton Beach with the deployment_id duly_pro_vervet.

The battery was swapped on 3/17/23 but the trend still is the same. Need further investigation.

Speculation of possible causes:

Failed Panel
Battery health deteriorated
~Damaged Solar Cable~
~Fried board/radio~
~High power consumption due to broken antenna~

TBD: Loss of network detection algorithm is needed to prevent attempting transmission when an antenna is broken to prevent hardware damage.
