Please ignore the failed Zig test, it's a regression in the Zig nightly build.

I'll try to merge the PR in the next couple of days (want to wrap up some other things first I'm currently in the middle of).

Ok, merged, I'll add a little blurb to the changelog, but otherwise keep it as an "under the hood feature for people who know what they're doing". Thanks for the PR!
