Best method does not return "real" best match [alternative] #8

from #7, I that pull request didn't seem to work for me, I had to create a new locale off the language and use that.

I've updated the tests, added a new one and also tweaked the documentation.

(Sorry, still getting to grips with github, and I couldn't find a way to add to somebody else's pull request - I imagine there isn't one).
