How do I uninstall version 0.1.7 when unable to upgrade to 0.1.9 or later? #266

I'm running Mac OS 10.2.8 and have just installed the
"ancient" 0.1.7 version of MacFUSE. The problem is it has
affected both DiskCopy and DiskUtility, In the respect that I can
no longer mount or see my 2nd hard disk nor can I mount a .dmg file.

I have read through the FAQ and it suggests that the easiest way to
remove version 0.1.7 is to upgrade to 0.1.9 or later and then execute
the uninstall script (which is not included in 0.1.7).

However... I cannot upgrade to uninstall as I can no longer mount the
.dmg image.

Any suggestions?

10.2.8? Why would you do that? The front page of the project site says you need
at least 10.4.x. The
"0_READ_THIS_FIRST" wiki page reiterates it. Why wouldn't you trust the system
requirements for MacFUSE?

I think you likely installed some "ancient" version of the ntfs-3g package too,
because it was known to break
disk image mounting etc.

I'd suggest removing the folders /System/Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/ and
/System/Library/Filesystems/ntfs-3g.fs/.

I'd also suggest continuing this discussion, if you should need to, on the
macfuse-devel forum.
