SSHFS hangs computer #290

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install MacFuse 10.4
2. Install SSHFS frontend
3. Connect to a SSH server via the UI
4. Get the Beach Ball forever

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A SSH mounted Volume

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
10.4.10

Please provide any additional information below.
Is there any log files that I can check? I'm happy to debug things on my
end, just I didn't find much debugging info.

The "SSHFS frontend" is simply not supported. It's just not.

Can you:

1. Try the command line sshfs program instead (that way, you can also see if
any errors are being printed).
2. Specify which version of MacFUSE you are using? (There's no "MacFUSE 10.4")

Also, I doubt getting the beachball forever in the sshfs frontend is equivalent
to the computer hanging. Have you
tried force quitting the application? If it's really MacFUSE that's "hanging",
you should get a timeout dialog (after
30 seconds) on Tiger.

If you continue having mysterious problems, lets discuss this on the
macfuse-devel forum. This doesn't sound
like a MacFUSE Core issue at this point.
