sshfs -- volume doesn't appear in Finder #343

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Mount a remote file system using sshfs via sshfs.app, sshfs-static, or
sshfs-static-10.5
2. Observe that the file system is mounted
3. Observe that the file system doesn't appear in the Finder sidebar

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

With the latest version, ping_diskarb is automatic, so the filesystem should
appear in Finder. I
can get to it if I tell Finder to "go" to "/Volumes".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

MacOS X 10.5.2
MacFUSE-Core-10.5-1.3.1.dmg and sshfs-1.0.0.dmg

Please provide any additional information below.

I downloaded the latest binaries for MacFUSE and sshfs.app from
"http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/" and installed them.
(MacFUSE-Core-10.5-1.3.1.dmg and
sshfs-1.0.0.dmg) Whenever I mount a remote volume, the volume mounts and works
properly.

The problem is that the mounted volume does not appear in Finder. I have tried
sshfs.app, as
well as sshfs-static and sshfs-static-10.5. All seem to have the same
behavior. I've also tried
adding the option ping_diskarb, but that doesn't help (and appears to be the
default now
anyhow).

I've tried googling for this, but I'm not finding anyone else having this
problem. I hope I can get
some help here. Note that if this is not the right place, please forgive me.
I tried to email fuse-
sshfs@lists.sourceforge.net, but the email seems to have disappeared into the
aether.

And ping_diskarb doesn't do anything on Leopard, as noted here:
