Enhancement: Utility to enter/input special keys and key combinations in the editor box

What steps will reproduce the problem?
It is a feature request, not an issue.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Need to have a input method to enter special keys in the editor because 
remembering all the special keys and typing them manually is difficult job.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
V 0.71.3 OS - Ubuntu 11.04

Please provide any additional information below.
Presently, to enter special keys, the user has to type them manually with <> 
and it is difficult to remember all those special keys. 

In similar programs for Windows, such as Shorthand For Windows and Phrase 
Express, we have option where the user presses certain keyboard shortcut and a 
box appears. The user is required to press the desired key combination and then 
those keyboard shortcuts/combinations are entered in the editor box.

It would be great if we can have similar feature.
