Release 1.24.2 #3565

@hiddeco I am aiming to release these tomorrow, (which by the UTC clock starts in 2.5 hours, so for me could also be tonight.)

If you have time to review these three today or tomorrow, that is definitely soon enough!

Please review in this order:

There will be another PR that follows this one, for housekeeping as usual, to merge back to master from the release branch release/1.24.x.

There is docker.io/fluxcd/flux-prerelease:master-5c6a9644 that anyone who wishes to review this release can run, or scan in case you have access to security tools. I am using Docker with Snyk, today the scan shows 0 vulnerable paths.
