Icon in System Tray should be able to change appearance if notifications were displayed #165

It would help me a lot if the notification symbol would be able to change into
another symbol if there was a notification I didn't confirm (maybe by clicking
on the symbol or anything?).
Because I tested the program today and found it really awesome cause I use to
miss a lot of calls when at the PC because the phone is somewhere else in the
flat. But If I am not looking at the notification that pops up (I am using it
on a 10.6 OS X with growl) it disappears and I will never know it was there.
So it would be great if there was a mode to enable to actually log the events
you could have possibly missed.

I agree this is a great idea. I often miss calls because I've been away from my
desk and only focus on my PC when I'm back. If the notifyer icon was hilited in
some way and also kept the log of events (like Mr. X called at 12:45PM), that
would be just awesome.

About the confirmation of messages, I would prefer if the phone could send a
reset-signal to the desktop app once it's being picked up manually. (The user
would then see notifications on the phone and should have no need for seeing
the same messages on the computer)

Anyways, already a great app! thanks!!

Roar Fredriksen

A message log would be great. Maybe with a message header telling if it's a
phone call or a SMS message and so on.

The pop-up time for the system pop-up is too short.

I have some personal opinions about the notifier icon in general. I made a
comment in another closed defect, only because I had hacked the jar with my own
icon and liked the look better and wanted to share.

I agree a message log would be great, as well as some options around the icon
look.

The comment is here:

If you guys want help building icons for this I'd be glad to chip in. I figure
you all have skills to put icons together, but if nobody wants to spend the
time hit me up, it would be fun.

As far as Ubuntu and now Opensuse is concerned, there is already an icon that
changes colors on new notifications. It would be great if it was utilized.

1. notifications are retained while away from laptop and phone
2. the icon will keep with the theme being used by the OS

Theres a mockup here:
