Not sure if this was ever looked at by @flynnsbit (perhaps its been fixed since 2022 updates?), but this issue seems to be isolated to the circumstance that @M-Walrus noted with respect to the VGA scaler. I'm not able to reproduce this issue with my setup (dual 128MB RAM(Digital), HDMI-out (Dell S2715H)).
Aside from the game taking 20~30 seconds to start when EITHER option is selected (Option 5: CD version with MT-32, or Option 2: VGA with MT-32), the game plays fine with no graphical issues to speak of. @M-Walrus, are you still experiencing this issue with the latest update(s) to both the AO486 core and the Top300 pack?
The game is starting in a different resolution when choosing this sound option, it would seem. I suspect this has to do with the CD/Win3.1 version having a higher 640x480 resolution than the standard DOS versions, and somehow this is getting loaded when this sound choice is made.
When the standard VGA version (non-talkie) with MT-32 is chosen, there are glitchy looking horizontal lines that appear on the screen when playing.
This was during a stream that Gillaxian had, where he had a custom 320x240 resolution set up with VGA_scaler because he was playing on his arcade monitor. Could this have caused any of the above issues?
