This seems to depend on for how long fman has been in use. I had 2 fman running and noticed that the one that had allocated less memory were much faster in moving files and also updating the GUI (just making the window larger took some time in the one allocating more memory).
i've noticed very slow behaviour while deleting files on mac mojave as well.. (deleting 4-5 text files, together smaller than 1mb, takes like 15 seconds)
I saw a nice potential in Fman. But it is completely unusable. Copying files from zip archive takes 1 minute (36 items, 21 mb) - this is enormous. Windows explorer does it for a 1 second. Need to switch to another dual manager.
Moving 40 small pdf's (55 kB each) from one directory to another takes about 30 seconds on a very fast computer. Windows 10. M2 disk.
