SOGo and Z-push #237

I'm a longtime user of zarafa and z-push. This team is running without any issues, even any mobile is synced perfectly. A few reasons are coming up now to think about a migration from zarafa to SOGo.

Since about 2 weeks I googled everything about z-push and SOGo. Yes, I tried the sogo-activesync, at least on my mobile it seems not to work proper. And yes, I read the example steps/configs in the wiki. I'm stuck with this, on my server no luck at all. Not even the imap backend from this contrib is working on my server. Interesting, the default imap backend from z-push (unmodified) is working proper.

The server is based on centos 6, it's a smeserver 9.0, up-to-date. As I already said, z-push and zarafa are gambling together on this server without any issues. Of course, I can provide any needed logs, config-files, to get a solution. I build a second server in a VM, so everything can be tested.

Now my question at this place:

Is anybody out there syncing a mobile via z-push to the latest SOGo-release? And if so, would it be possible to have a how-to with detailed configs for imap, caldav and carddav?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. stefan

Hi stefan,

quite some time has passed since you put up your question here. I'm a longtime user of SOGo with CalDav/CardDav configuration on a Debian 8 virtual server. I'm using it to sync between my desktop running Evolution and my Android mobile. Handling e-mail is done using postfix + dovecot. Works nice and flawlessly.

Anyway, the reason why I'm writing here is because I plan to move over to Zarafa + z-push. This is because I'd like to get my private calendar into my Desktop at work which is running Outlook. Furthermore I'd like to reactivate my Symbian S60 phone and sync the calendar with my server.

I tried to get the OpenChange component of SOGo up and running, in order to obtain native Outlook support, but to no avail. And even if I got OpenChange going, it still would be unsure if I could sync Symbian S60 with it. So this is why I'd like to give Zarafa + z-push a shot.

My question: What are the reasons that make you think about moving away from Zarafa + z-push? I'd really be interested it that!

Furthermore if I can be of any help with the SOGo server, let me know.

Found out that Zarafa does not support external IMAP servers and relies on a MAPI database on MySQL to store e-mail. That's a pity, because I'd like to continue to use my dovecot mail server. Read about "mailbridge" to connect Zarafa with dovecot, but this seems far to experimental for daily use.

So, I'm back to SOGo and I'd like to interface my Symbian S60 mobile with it. How to achieve that? A mapping from CardDav/CalDav to Z-Push would be perfect. So I could continue to use SOGo and add a Symbian S60 device using Z-Push.

Anyone ideas or help on that?

@benjaminhentze hey there.. I just wanted to ask if you found a solution for your setup,, or maybe what your setup looks like today.
