I would like to add to this, it would also be nice if the size of waypoints,
and annotations added by the user, could also be scaled or moved around - some
of the time they overlap and can be very hard to read unless you're right on
top of them (in which case you can see so little detail of the road, track,
route, or waypoints you've mapped that they become irrelevant).

Yes, I also find it frustrating that as one zooms in the text size of the (say)
street names keeps reverting back to the tiny / unreadable size!

As a visually impaired person, when I change the size of a map the street
lables momentarily change size, but then quickly go back to what appears to be
a set font size. And it's tiny. If you must use that size as default, please
allow a way to enlarge.

Increase font size when viewing maps, even when you zoom in road names are too
small

I sincerely hope somebody is listening. Trying to see the names of a road are
impossible their two small. And zooming in doesn't help. Is it worth trying a
new version I can see people are talking about this May 29, 2014. It should not
even be a problem in the versions of this date.
It should've been fixed a long time ago it's been going on forever. Thanks

Slight workaround if you're trying to screencap or take images of particular
areas. Make the window as small as it will go (i.e. resize the GE program) once
you reach the area you want to view. Zoom in then out of the area to "reset"
the text size. Then resize the GE program. Don't zoom in or out or move the map
in the program again as this resets label size. Instead this program window
scaling forces the road labels to scale with the program thereby creating a
workaround for increasing label size.
It'll do the job for what we want until google devotes some time into making
this a feature.
