No track visible without data signal

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Hiking out of range of Data Signal
2.Updating Google Maps
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Used to record track on blank screen. That way I could stay on return track and 
not wander. Now it just shows blank screen. Track returns when data signal 
returns. When I uninstall Google Maps updates it shows a recorded track without 
data signal.  

What version of MyTracks are you using? On what version of Android? On what
phone?
My Tracks version 2.0.7
Android version 4.1.2
Casio Commando C811
