Upgrading while ignoring the prerequisite for PHP 7.1 or 7.0 finished successfully. The extension seems to be working fine.

It didn't worked with Magento 2.3 without updating dependencies to magento modules. I created PR that adds compatibility both with php 7.2 and magento 2.3 https://github.com/henkelund/magento2-henhed-piwik/pull/36
