Feature Request: Emacs-like Mark/Selection Setting and Request for Hard-coded Shift-Selection Override #329

I've been able to replicate my Emacs setup here, but one thing I haven't managed to get working is starting a selection via Ctrl+Space. When a selection is started that way (rather than by holding shift or click-dragging the mouse) you are free to use any navigational key bindings you like to expand the selection from whichever point you initially marked.

Also, I'd like to request a toggle to override the behavior of holding the shift key to make a selection.

I do not have access to the closed beta of Jai so it is infeasible to make the contribution directly. If it is opened before the issue is resolved then I can work on the feature directly.

This is not in the immediate plans because we have little time to dedicate to the project and a big queue of stuff, but we'll consider this
