v0.14 update didn't take #24

I've heavily edited this post to say that I solved my initial problem by replacing the shortcut to FOMM (previous one kept bring up the previous version), but now I have another issue; after the install, both FO3 and FNV's package manager do not have installed mods checked as being installed, even tho the mod mgr page shows an accurate load order. Also, I use the 'show groups' option, but about a third of each game's installed mods apparently have lost the group tags I applied to each while building the FOMod (they're showing as 'no group'. That part won't be difficult to fix (but is a tiny bit annoying), but the entire list of unchecked mods is another issue. WIll I have to go back thru my entire load list for each game and do a reinstall to correctly repopulate the list?

Sorry about this =( From what version did you updated? Will try to reproduce this issue...

EvilOssie commented 9 years ago

Previous was (IIRC) 13.12...13.something, definitely, and I'm fairly sure that it was the most recent except for today.

And thanks.

Sorry, but it seems one-way-update =( We've changed file format somewhere in 0.14.x, sorry...

OK, just to be clear, you're saying that it can't be fixed, then? Damn, but oh well.

This means I'll have to reactivate everything to correctly populate the pkg manager's list? Rebuilding the FO3 list won't an issue, since I'm still building that up and only have FWE, EVE, MMM, and BoE installed and am running test char's only.

My FNV build is another matter, tho...it's a remarkably stable and active build, w/higher lvl char's, that I'm reluctant to mess with too much for fear of breaking something. One thing I'm worried about is, after I've gone thru and reactivated my entire list of 126 installs, will I have lost all of my FNVEdits that I've done over the past year or so.

Can you please check if there is OLD InstallLog.xml* files in FNV/Install Info folder?

EvilOssie commented 9 years ago

Not there...I'd looked for that earlier also, but no luck.

niveuseverto commented 9 years ago

I'm thinking of moving FOMM settings (like custom groups, installed mods and their order) into FOMM app dir... my be it will option to solve this kind of issues...

EvilOssie commented 9 years ago

Just FWIW...I'm posting all this not to complain (...too much...), but with the hope that the info will be useful down the road. Just wanted to make that clear.

Following up on my concern about losing FO3Edits - I've been reactivating my FO3 list and it looks like I did not lose the editing I'd done earlier. That's a relief.
