bug: icons not highlighted correctly #525

sorry for the low effort issue. If this isn't a known wontfix problem I'll open a more detailed one with a minimal repro.

The issue is that in some cases characters aren't highlighted correctly. I think this might have something todo with multibyte characters from nerdfonts but not sure.
