Button style - add news item, add event #176

Not sure if the styling on these buttons has been completed but I was thinking that they look a bit big in comparison with the rest of the layout features. A bit like Duplo bricks, would Lego sized ones look better? Happy to be told that it is the way it should be.

I made them big like that to encourage your visitors to add content. I seem to recall it was a major objective to encourage more content submissions.

If you want them smaller that would be fab by me. Saves space.

So, back to you Giles

GilesGibson commented 10 years ago

ok, I agree that we want to make it simple to contribute. Was just wondering if the scale was correct, would they still stand out if scaled back a bit?

pmackay commented 10 years ago

Part of the issue here is that they scale to fit the column width. And they fill the column to align with other content.

GilesGibson commented 10 years ago

I agree that filling the width could look OK. I was just thinking that it was a bit too big and prominent. Be interesting to see if it would still be acceptable to style gurus if it was a little smaller. Would it work if it was the same size as Twitter and Facebook logos - the oblong versions? Text to be on top of button, "add News" or "add event". I bow to the style police...
