Offset or offset correction? #165

I have just one quick question, that is probably easy to answer:

When I put in a number for my drive at the offset, is it the offset
_corection_ or the offset of the drive that should be there?

The values found on http://www.accuraterip.com/driveoffsets.htm are all
offset CORRECTION values. For example, my drive has an offset correction
value of +30, which means my drive's offset is -30 (it reads 30 samples too
soon).

So what does the value mean in rubyripper? It would be nice to have a
clarification in the program. :)

It's the same value cdparanoia accepts as parameter. As I interpret it, it's a
read
offset. Not a drive offset. But your point is correct.

Sorry about that. Every time I mentioned offset and offset correction, I meant
read
offset and read offset correction. I will look into the cdparanoia man page to
see if
I can find any info, then.

The value to enter in RR is the same sign as
http://www.accuraterip.com/driveoffsets.htm.
I've just used audacity to compare a rip done with EAC to one with RR. the
rips match.
Can I suggest to add a tool tip to the configuration page saying that the number
should match what's shown in the accuraterip web page.

Your request is fixed in r283. A tooltip is now shown. I've also made it a
clickable
link.
