Check for Libre Baskerville printing issue #2566

Open davelab6 opened 5 years ago

Observed behaviour

The Font "Libre Baskerville" causes problems in the application in print. I have included this font in a Word document and the generated PDF can not be printed on any printer - also the pure Word-document. Is there a solution?

Expected behaviour

We have a check for whatever that problem is

No problem with Word for Mac version 16.16.11 (the attached PDF prints without problems). Maybe a Word for Windows issue? Libre Baskerville.pdf

Just had this exact problem.

Libre Baskerville is a lovely font but unfortunately it looks a messy garble of distorted letters and black marks when printed from an OpenOffice (MacOS) generated document. I exported to PDF from OpenOffice and it made no difference. Looks fine on screen but when printed it's a total unusable mess.

I had the same issue, but it ended up being an issue with my printer's firmware. (HP LaserJet 9050dn) Updating the firmware resolved the problem.
