In general, specific atomic requests are easier to discuss :) So this could be
split
into three.
I'm not sure we're up for giving users control of their own areas. We take
responsibility for what's published (obviously in collaboration with the
organisations). We don't want some business giving a load of marketing, or
someone
spouting nonsense, and we want to spell and quality check the text. Also, we're
not
trying to provide free customisable web-space hosting for every organisation,
it's
too hard, and not what this is designed for. It's obviously more overhead to
start
dealing with individual logins and passwords for every organisation, most of
whom
will never use it. I think that video has limited use for a local guide, you'd
have
to be pretty hardcore! It sounds like you want to use this for more of a
general CMS;
I don't think it's something that we'll be writing anytime soon. Let me know if
I'm
wrong.
HOWEVER I can see it being useful in the current system to allow someone to
upload a
photo as a suggestion for their page (for moderation), maybe with some clever
re-sizing, or warning them that it's big, or just allowing it through and
having an
admin edit it down. Maybe log this as a separate issue if you think it needs
addressing.
Editorial log - do you mean you want to see who's editing what, as a trust
thing? The
group of editors has always been small and because we're taking responsibility
for
the listings ourselves, we've trusted each other to write and review listings.
We use
a wiki to document major decisions. What do you have in mind? Maybe log it as a
separate request.
"nicer" - unfortunately there's no objective measure of this :) if you have
specific
suggestions, feel free to log them separately.
