Foodsoft uses a CSV template to upload productlist from our suppliers. when uploading a productlist, the software gives many errors because the product identification is based purely on the name/productdescription of a product. If there are multiple products with the same productname an error occurs and we have to manually change the name through the document.
even if there is a clear difference between the products like different package size, brand, or different type of organic label (organic or demeter)
solution proposal:
when available use use EAN (or order number + supplier?) for identification
when ean(/order number) is not available create a product id from UNSPSC categorisation code, zipcode/lastname producer, label, and packagingsize (possibly combined with zipcode/name supplier when the exact same article is available from different wholesalers
.
another thing is that suppliers use categorisation titles between the rows with products, sometimes in the productname column. to avoid manual deleting all the categorisation titles in the file:
solution proposal:
if artikelname, unit and price are in a row in the CSV productlist, then upload this row as a product
