R_het_soil is currently included in the variable mapping diagram:
... and listed in the variables table, but with zero records (which is far from correct -- there are 756!). This is because we do not have it flagged for sending to EFDB in ForC_variables_mapping.csv.
My assessment of it was: "In theory, this can be used to help construct a belowground C balance. In practice, it's complex, and should only be done at a site level. I'd recommend avoiding this, at least for now." Valentyna commented "not needed".
We need to make a decision on this and be consistent. I want to consult the IPCC team about this (#40 ).
Once we decide on R_het_soil, we will need to:
[x] update schematic figure
[x] update variables table in paper
[x] update variables mapping file
[x] update stats on n records (if included)
[x] update code pulling out n records by variable (~l. 150-162)
[x] updates results text
[x] check that conclusions from histogram figure don't change with updated results (if included)
