Howdy @DTHyphen8 So I just tried to repo locally to and I found I was able to see lightning email templates in my public folder.
I did have to hit the refresh button in the Org Browser for it to show up.
Is you template in the public folder? I'm asking around about why only the public folder shows up in the org browser.

I've reproduced the issue, and I am in talks with the CLI team to determine what the expected behavior is.

Summary
We're unable to retrieve lightning email templates using the org browser. It is possible to retrieve them via the manifest, so we do have a workaround for now.
Steps To Reproduce:
Expected result
Both classic and lightning email template folders should appear.
Actual result
Only classic email template folders appear
