some anypoint code builder improvements you can think about:

invest in webview 2.0 not webview.
decouple the app and the vscode extension. You have to create a local sever (connector) that interacts with vscode apis. The server gets requests from the app and send them to vscode. With this approach the builder can be opened in "window mode" using a browser or an electron app.

add a new config prop called "window mode" so that people can use this feature only if they want it.

I think you will be able to do window mode soon with native vscode apis. The latest version allow users to create floating windows by just dragging certain editor tabs to another window or desktop. But this api doesn't work yet with webviews
