Currently the opposite is already implemented: when selecting a branch in the left outline, the corresponding commit comes into view and is highlighted on the right side.
I would like the opposite to happen as well as this makes it easier to e.g. rebase/merge the branch by drag and drop, which is only supported on the outline.
Alternatively it would be useful to be able to drag/drop a branch from the right panel to another branch on either panel (left or right) and get the context menu currently only available on the left:
