UI Suggestion: Improve vertical layout readability #2189

I always found that the vertical layout option of Fork is relatively hard to read. This might be because both the developer names and commit messages are vertically overlaid.

I made a quick mockup of a layout that uses the same amount of space but is (in my opinion) much easier to read: Fork_Layout It is now split up into three columns:

Developer name
Commit SHA + date
Commit message in two lines

UI is difficult to customize. We don't have resources to introduce and maintain another layout option.

I didnt think of this as a third layout option, but more as an idea to improve the existing vertical layout option.

It'd also be nice if the fields listed in the commit list can be toggled (specifically, author, possibly author name (leaving the picture in place)?, short commit hash and date).

Sometimes, I'd be interested in just the commit graph along the left and the commit message, but the commit message wouldn't be fully visible because the other fields occupy space next to the commit message 💁.
