As far as i understand, the idea for now is that fork will continue to work without activation. You can buy a license for your offline machine and simply not activate it. You have to live with the activation reminders though...
I would like some way of offline activation as well though, to get rid of the messages
@DanPristupov please correct me if i got it wrong
@felixhirt yes, I couldn't say better 👍
This is an offtopic, but I think I must clarify. I don't want us to implement this feature right now because currently there are more prioritised things like:

That's totally fine (and I fully understand). As long as Fork continues to work even without being activated, I (personally) can live with that.
We've been using Fork in my company now for some time and I think it's the best Git UI that currently exists. Now that Fork has become a paid software, we'd gladly buy some licenses. However, our intranet is air gapped; i.e. there's no internet access. As far as I understand it, Fork however requires internet access to activate a license (just tried it; didn't work).
So, as long as there is no offline license activation, we can't use Fork anymore - which is sad.
This is why I'm opening the issue to track the progress on this feature request. (I know this has been discussed in #564 but to me this issue is more about the general activation of Fork and not a dedicated feature request for offline activation.)
If you need some pointers as how to implement this, have a look at how Git Tower does this: https://www.git-tower.com/help/guides/integration/offline-activation/windows
