I tried one more time and can produce its official Telegram Desktop as #48
Thank you, I'll check it today.
I definitely can't reproduce the problem.
I downloaded version 3.0.1, opened settings and checked for updates — no updates. I removed ~/.local/share/TelegramDesktop/tdata
folder and opened the app again (now the app is unauthorized) and the behavior has not changed — no updates in unauthorized settings either.
I double-checked the directory which contains the Forkgram binary and found there is one updater
binary.
I don't know it's from the official Telegram or not, But it can be related to this issue?

It is helper binary for updates. You can safely remove it, it will appear again. Perhaps it will resolve the problem?
I believe it's been working fine for a while.
Steps to reproduce
Also, I reverted the previous version binary, But I need to log in again...
Expected behaviour
There is not any updater binary in the Forkgram release. So, I think it won't update automatically. But after installing the new version it shown an update prompt. As my previous issue #48 which update process will install the official Telegram Desktop. I think it's not fixed yet.
Actual behaviour
Operating system
Ubuntu 20.04
Version of Telegram Desktop
3.0.1
