Im having problems with setting up Travis CI.

What is the best way to approach this?
How should I construct the travis.yml file?
Where should the travis.yml file be put?

Can someone please assist?

I have managed in resolving this. Here are the steps I took to achieve it

Installation

First install travis CI to your repo, you can do this by searching Travis CI select the app and Install
After installation activate your repo from the travis console

Setup

Travis requires instruction to be told what to do.
On the root folder of your repo create a .travis.yml file.
This is very important if you put it anywhere else it will not work
You can enter your configutrations in the travis file

Here is a snippet of my config file


language: node_js
node_js:
- "8"
cache: yarn

script:

cd backend && yarn install && yarn test
