Job Description
Verisk Extreme Event Solutions (formally AIR Worldwide) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Consulting and Client Services Group in their Beijing office. This is a client facing role and your responsibilities will include client account management, client training and technical support, as well as leading consulting projects.
You will also use technical, analytical, and project management skills to work with clients to enhance their usage of the AIR suite of solutions and help troubleshoot any software-related issues. You will work closely across the internal research, software development and product management teams across the globe to solve client issues.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in science, engineering, or mathematics. Proficiency in English and Chinese oral and written communication is a must, particularly the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively.
Main responsibilities (but not limited to)
Train clients and answering questions on Verisk's suite of software products.
Provide support to solve client software and technical issues.
Add value to modelled results through customization tailored to the needs of clients.
Perform sophisticated risk analyses using Verisk's cutting-edge technology for insurers, brokers, and other financial intermediaries.
Communicate directly with clients to develop project timelines and manage expectations.
Help clients reliably assess and manage their catastrophe loss potential through deep interpretation of modelling results.
Recommend new approaches to risk management internally and for our clients.
Qualifications
Required knowledge and skills
Experience using Microsoft Office suite, and working knowledge of SQL and Macro.
Programming languages such as R, C++ and C#.
Software use such as ArcGIS and Matlab.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and a solid understanding of probability concepts.
Excellent problem-solving skills and can-do attitude towards challenging tasks.
Excellent English communication, time management and organizational skills.
Education Requirements
A bachelor or higher degree in science, engineering, mathematics/statistics, or similar fields.
Any certification or experience in insurance industry is plus.
