4 years ago I know Flavio really likes the beige tone, but if anyone feels artsy at the moment and could come up with (another) good-looking colour palette that meets accessibility standards, that'd be awesome! Between 2-4 colors.

Regarding issue #8, I fixed the major accessibility issues.
It's going to take many iterations, so consider this as a work in progress. When new pages are added using new features of the theme, we'll have to fix them since most of the features have accessibility issues.
*ps: I haven't touched heading levels for now.
