Write an article for the next issue that can also be used to demonstrate the template.

@everythingfunctional I have merged the first_article branch into the column branch and just submitted a pull request to merge the column branch into the master branch. I think this PR can be closed. I'll merge column as soon as tests pass. Then main will be up-to-date.
