Communication from Kevin O'Brien to the chair of the R consortium Working Group on Diversity and Inclusion (RCWGDI).
(Several member of Forwards also received this communique.)
This communication is pursuant to an agenda item , i.e. a conference best practice check list. The text was revised for clarity, and to remove names.
Apropos of the Conference Best Practice Checklist component of the Working Group agenda, I seek the invitation to some people from the European R User Meeting 2020 (eRum 2020) organizing committee to the next call.
The eRum 2020 conference is due to take place over 4 days next May in Milan, and preparations are already underway. Approximately 400-500 R Users from around Europe are expected to attend.
This would be a great opportunity to road-test the checklist, and to consolidate it as a knowledge base across the global R community.
Additionally I reckon to inform the Forwards Blog team about that part of the project. The intention is that distribution of a blog post would generate feedback that would fine-tune it.
