A Forwards Team member proposed that the Taskforce creates a LinkedIn page, a view endorsed by several other team members.

In terms of publicizing initiatives, it would be great to tag the page, and it would be a good way for people to list their volunteer efforts on their personal profiles. You can create an organizational page, and then have multiple administrators. It would also be a good way to share updates about what we’re doing, as you can have organizational posts

In the first instance, this is a matter for the Social Media and Blog teams, but the Community Team can contribute to the successful development.

As noted at the Conference and Event Organizers meeting at UseR! 2019, LinkedIn presents more advantages in terms of attracting sponsorship, both for the conferences themselves, but also for scholarship programs associated with the conference. ("Techies use twitter, but marketing people, the ones who sign sponsorship checks, tend to use LinkedIn")

Twitter and Facebook are commonly off-limits in workplaces, but LinkedIn is typically permitted. LinkedIn pages are harder to develop, due to the characterisation of it as a "warren" network, as opposed to Twitter as an "open-forum" network.
