Hi, as mentioned in the other issue, selfoss API is described in https://app.swaggerhub.com/apis/jtojnar/selfoss/
Personally, I do not really see myself using a desktop client as I typically scan feed items’ titles, open the ones I am interested in new tab, and then mark everything as read.
I do not have much data to gauge potential user base as GitHub does not really show many stats other than the 24.8k downloads of https://github.com/fossar/selfoss/releases/tag/2.18. Best approximation of popularity is probably something the likes on AlternativeTo or stars on GitHub. For example, FreshRSS has roughly double of our number on both of those.
Hello, I am author of RSS Guard, which is multi-protocol and multi-plugin feed reader for desktops - Win, Linux, OS/2, macos, *bsd.
RSS Guard has plugin-like architecture and already supports some feed readers which provide APIs.
My question is: Would there be interest in me adding selfoss support into RSS Guard via your API? If sou, can you somehow estimate how many users would benefit from this? Do you even offer some kind of API?
RSS Guard is FOSS, no fees required, same stands for plugin implementation, I do it for fun in my free time.
