Use cover art from local file #153

All of my cover art is already neatly placed into every album folder in a file called "cover.jpg". Almost every music play I've tried (Quad Libet, Rhythmbox, etc.) finds and displays my cover art.

Maybe I doing something wrong, but this (very cool) cover art browser does not find my cover art and intead attempts (I think) to locate it on the internet.

From the Rythmbox FAQ:

"If you have local image files, saved in the same directory as the audio file(s) with the filename "cover", "album", "albumart", ".folder", "folder" or "$artist - $album" Rhythmbox will use them instead of looking up a cover"

It would be if this plugin would work the same way.

Hi - do you have the default CoverArt Search plugin enabled?

N.B. Three similarly named plugins

Our two - CoverArt Browser Plugin, CoverArt Browser Search Providers

Rhythmbox default - CoverArt Search

You need this for the plugin to pick up these files.

EDIT:

This may be a workaround - make sure the above plugin (CoverArt Search) is enabled.

Then disable your network interface (network manager/wicd) so that you are no longer connected to the internet.

Then rightclick the coverart browser label (left hand pane) and choose "Download all covers"

Does this pick up all your local cover art?

I did have that plugin enabled. And you work-around did function correctly. Thanks for the help.

I'll close this since its closely related to #152 - we will probably tidy up all of this area in the next release.
