On Launchpad, the status show 100% translated but I get these string in English on my French CA system:

-Play Similar Artist -Follow Playing Song

fossfreedom commented 10 years ago

Thanks - there are a few new translations to be done for this release. I'll upload them onto launchpad in the next couple of weeks. I'll change the title to be a little more generic to cover all translation issues for this release.

fossfreedom commented 10 years ago

@jrbastien - the latest translations strings have now been uploaded to Launchpad

thanks.

Ok, I will do a first pass. F.Y.I. There are some errors when installing the language files:

installing languages to /usr/share/locale/ installing ast installing az installing bg installing bs installing ca installing cs installing de installing el installing en_GB en_GB.po:7: AVERTISSEMENT : header field 'Language' still has the initial default value installing en_US installing es installing fi installing fr installing fr_CA installing gl installing hr installing it installing ko installing ms installing pl installing pt installing pt_BR installing ro installing sk installing tr installing zh_CN zh_CN.po:7: AVERTISSEMENT : header field 'Language' still has the initial default value Installing the glib schema (password needed)

Are these 2 strings meant to be there:

%d:%02d:%02d %d:%02d

If yes, what are they used for?

fossfreedom commented 10 years ago

yep - wouldnt worry about those warnings - launchpad isnt filling the fields correctly. It doesnt harm the installation.

I've just added some Translator hints and uploaded these - these should appear within the next half-hour or so.

jrbastien commented 10 years ago

I have been trying to do some translation tonight but Launchpad is giving me timeout errors when saving. Please be patient.

jrbastien commented 10 years ago

Not sure what is going on with Launchpad. This is the second day, that I can't translate anything. I get these errors:

Do you get the same problem in UK?

fossfreedom commented 10 years ago

I have seen that before on occasions - I usually have to use the browser back button and do another resubmit - usually works- may have to repeat one or two times.

If its happening all the time, suggest raise a bug report on launchpad.

fossfreedom commented 10 years ago

hmm - think this bug report is your issue

Given the latest situation (QA testing) - hopefully a fix is imminent (the only work around in that thread is the back-browser option I said above) - however I'm also going to look at the other suggestions about moving from launchpad - or at least having the option to translate on another platform.

Obviously any solution has to be opensource friendly with opensource licenses for the translations.

jrbastien commented 10 years ago

It is even worse today. The back button workaround does not work at all.

fossfreedom commented 10 years ago

I'm experimenting with an alternative translation platform -

its a free platform for opensource projects - I've uploaded a fr_CA translation. If you are happy to - please can you have a look and see if this is as simple as Launchpad?

jrbastien commented 10 years ago

I would say it has a professional interface. I'm missing the option to use another language as a reference. Perhaps, this would be available if you upload the French po.

For an unknown reason, the save button is not available on this translation: %s (%d tracks). Can you please try? Just use %s (%d pistes), if you can.

fossfreedom commented 10 years ago

There is two "buttons" labelled "one" and "other" - when you click "one" you fill in the singular "track" - when you click "other" you fill in the translation for the plural form of "tracks" - when both values are filled the save button is available

ok - I've assumed the singular version is "%s (%d piste)" and the plural as you said was "%s (%d pistes)" - this I've uploaded here for you to test with

jrbastien commented 10 years ago

Thanks for the tip. That concept was new to me. Separately, I can't find "Hide all tracks" and "Show all tracks" in the application.  Can you please tell me where it is?

fossfreedom commented 10 years ago

yep - that's in the album info pane:

noticed there is a small bug here -clicking the "Show all tracks" button shows the artist track pane - will fix that.

jrbastien commented 10 years ago

This one is good enough for me now. I'm seeing everything translated. I'm not closing it in case you want to leave it open until more translations are uploaded.
