The customized icon is not applied #146

Thanks for your awesome plugin, I've used it for years and never had any (big) problem with it.

And now in version 0.5.4, when I set a customized icon in parameters, it doesn't apply and the tray shows the default one (But the customized icon for new messages works normally).

I'm using Thunderbird 31.3.0 in Xubuntu 14.04.

Hi, thank you for reporting! Do you get any FireTray-related errors in the JS/Error-console ? There was a rename of option in v0.5.3 and an attempt to properly handle this change in v0.5.4 (3e0ede74c). Do you have app_icon_filename or app_icon_custom set in ~/.thunderbird/YOUR_PROFILE/prefs.js ?

sgrayban commented 9 years ago

I have the same issue

My ~/.thunderbird/oydr92vs.tb5/prefs.js user_pref("extensions.firetray.app_icon_custom", "/home/sgrayban/gmail-icon.png");

KabbAmine commented 9 years ago

I have app_icon_custom (With the correct icon's path) in my pref.js and no Firetray-related errors in thunderbird's console.

foudfou commented 9 years ago

Could it be related to #147 ? Please check the possible solution in #147.

KabbAmine commented 9 years ago

It solves the problem.

Thanks. You can close the issue.

Changing the "extensions.firetray.with_appindicator" value to false helped at thunderbird. But at xubuntu, messages are shown at notifications, now it is the advice category from the panel.
