It's not iPod specific code, but code for USB device notifications and the Apple remote.
Well that is pretty Mac specific though. So the argument remains the same?
I'm fine with either choice.
I checked different names. The domain basek.it
would also be available. Maybe split it up in 3 frameworks.
On second thought I don't like the wording of iOSBase
and MacBase
. MacKit
and iOSKit
seem more appropriate.
@Erik, Well, that sounds kinda Mac-specific to me too -)
I love "MacKit" and "iOSKit"! Have some second thoughts because of trademarks, but worst case we rename it ;)
iKit
and XKit
;)
+1 for FoundationKit, iOSKit and MacKit
Marking this as needs final approval by @steipete
FoundationKit, iOSKit and MacKit it is. (And to quote a famous person "and I think it's great."
Don't like it? Sue us! :P
Had a discussion with @eaigner, whether
IOKit
code that detects a plugged in iPod belongs inFoundationKit
orAppKitSquared
.What if
FoundationKit
were cross-Mac/iOS only, while we addMacKit
andiOSKit
. That way iPod-detection code clearly belongs in MacKit, since it's useless on iOS, even thought it usesIOKit
which would otherwise make it belong toFoundationKit
.
