As discussed in the first FaCN1 Business Development meeting, myself, @JWLD and @m4v15 felt the Nazareth page could benefit from a little detail on why Nazareth is a good place to learn to code:

@edgarfinn @JWLD @m4v15 would you like to have a go at some draft additional content during business development time today? You can post what you come up with here or as a PR on the README.

@JWLD @m4v15 @edgarfinn saw that you guys were thinking about writing a medium article, thought i would put this here for reference (written by a member of FAC4)

@rebeccaradding

How about this?

WHY NAZARETH?

Israel is regarded as one of the tech start-up capitals of the world, home to companies such as Viber, Fivver, Waze, Gett, and PrimeSense amongst many others. Nazareth in particular is a city with a huge amount of potential within the Israeli tech industry. Historically, Arab society has had low participation in the Israeli tech Industry, and with Nazareth as the largest Arab town in Israel, Founders & Coders will support both the economic development of Nazareth and facilitate engagement between Arab society and the Israeli hi-tech industry.

We just noticed the repo has a note saying its being phased out, is that just because its being merged with the site? If not, and people agree with the above wording, we can issue a PR.

cheers

Just to say you might recognise the last sentence from the About section on the actual FAC website, we just thought it would be useful to have it as a sort of "mission statement" directly in a place potential students might go to in order to find out more about the Nazareth programme.

@edgarfinn @m4v15, these READMEs are meant to be transferred to the our-site repo, so that they can eventually be made into actual webpages once we are pretty happy with the content.

For now, happy to get this content updated. Would you like to add the links to our recent press as well?
