The Approvals Lifecycle maps the end-to-end journey of an approval. It depicts the activities that enable an FBO to operate and the FSA to regulate in line with the Official Controls they are required to deliver as Competent Authority.
The Approvals Lifecycle comprises a number of workflows, strings of processes and tasks that underpin the request and fulfilment activities. Some workflows are self-contained while
Each workflow is constrained by governance (legislative and organisational policy), processes and procedures, and resources (people and technology).
To modernise approvals as a service and enable digitisation, we need to clarify the current workflows and then identify elements that can be changed and/or enhanced.
To 'rewire' the Approvals process and enable digitisation, automation and enhanced ways of working, we then need workflows that accurately map tasks, decisions, and outcomes.
Workflows need to be created in a format that can be: used by workflow automation platforms (to be selected); and easily updated to facilitate business change.
