You also gain low-light vision, or you gain darkvision if your ancestry already has low-light vision. You can choose from dhampir feats and feats from your ancestry whenever you gain an ancestry feat.
Feral Child
doesn't have this specification though, it only says
You gain Low-Light Vision (or Darkvision if you already had Low-Light Vision)
Then what does this have to do with ancestries vs heritages?
The Feral Child
background has a predicate of "self:low-light-vision:from-ancestry"
for darkvision and therefore doesn't work for Low-Light Vision
given by Heritage
I didn't know that Feral Child
was the exception.
In the instance of a background like
Feral Child
, a character is supposed to gainDarkvision
if it already hasLow-Light Vision
.Currently in the system, only an
Ancestry
source ofLow-Light Vision
is considered but shouldn't theHeritage
be seen as an equivalent ? Both being linked and part of the origins of the character.
