Bestiary icons gone after update? #2004

After upgrading my Pathfinder 2E to v9 in Foundry VTT my Bestiary icons folders have been removed breaking icons in worlds I have?

This folder no longer exists after updating? systems/pf2e/icons/bestiary-1

System folders get overwritten by Foundry when you update the system. You should never store data in the data/systems or data/world folders. The Readme file that Foundry places in the data/systems folder specifies that these folders are for game frameworks.

When you update the system it removes the folder under data/systems for that specific folder and replaces it with a new one from the repository. Since your bestiary 1 icons aren't from the repository when you updated they were deleted. This is Foundry core behaviour.

Thanks for the reply Tim, much appreciated. I honestly am new to all this and don't know how that bestiary folder got added? I thought it was part of the PF2E game world install.

There were about 20 default images that were provided with the system from various artists. We removed those in the last update since we have the PDF to Foundry importer and it takes the actual artwork. That we did remove. If you were using those I do apologize for that. If you added art to it I can understand the confusion :smile:

I do recommend PDF to Foundry and importing the bestiary 1, 2, and 3 PDFs until such time as Paizo gives us better quality, licensed art packs!

My default loot.svg disappeared. I'm a new user so it's not much of a hassle, I guess I just need to find a new icon for loot.

Nothing has changed with that. It sounds like you may have a bad system install: try getting technical support on the Foundry discord.
