I've noticed that on live streams, the only control available is "stop". I can't even pause, and there's no buffering.
This is obviously an unreasonably complex feature to implement yourself, but it looks like there are other kodi plugins that do most of the heavy lifting. https://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=215 is the first one I found, although I imagine there are others. I've never written a kodi plugin, so I don't really know how much work it would be integrate with the iptv simple client, or some other plugin that can provide more advanced buffering features.
