Connect to Internet Chess dialog: Connection Error text color is black on black background

What steps will reproduce the problem?
 * FICS is down :) 

What version of the product are you using?
 * HG head version
~/pychess$ hg summary
parent: 2579:e5276fd2a87a tip
 Show mate line when pultipv>1 on hint panel
branch: default
commit: (clean)
update: (current)

The error texts
"Connection Error" and "timed out" 
are displayed black on black 

I'm not sure if this is somehow depended of my gnome themes? 

On attached screenshot i've selected the the text with mouse so it shows 
(but the other line does not )
