Some piece themes aren't rendered well #854

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open PyChess
2. Go to Edit>Preferences>Themes
3. Select a theme like Alfonso, Magnetic, Alpha, etc.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Pieces should look nice in the board, instead the program renders them in an
odd way.

Does it happen every time?
Yes.

What version of the product are you using?
PyChess Anderssen 0.12rc1

Did you use an installed version of PyChess or did you run in from a
tarball/svn?
I downloaded the .deb file.

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm using Ubuntu 14.04, my graphic card is an Nvidia GT610, using proprietary
drivers. In older versions of PyChess I didn't have any problem with piece
rendering. Also, TTF pieces work well.

Please attach the latest pychess logfile. It's in a hidden folder, under
your homedirectory, named ".local/share/pychess/"

Seems Ubuntu 14.04 ships some new "fixed" rendering libs :( At least we didn't
changed our piece rendering code for some time past.
